Northern Retreat
Residential | Remodel | Custom Cabinetry Design
Working with the client and her designer on their seasonal home, there were several challenges that would need to be addressed within this particular kitchen design. A structural wall was removed leaving an exposed column. The challenge was to design a custom cabinet that would be functional and aesthetically pleasing to hide the structural element in a non conventional way. A tall storage cabinet became part of the design with custom cut glass shelving. The space also included a custom mini island on industrial casters with a 3 inch thick walnut butcher block top. It was completely customized from the bottom to the top based on the needs specified by the client. A rather large island also proved to be challenging due to it's function and the spatial planning concerns. In the end, these custom cabinetry pieces created together gave the space a unique and flawless flow.
