residential | remodel | florence, italy

Taking direction from Qart Progetti under Donatella Caruso, a client asked for a transformation of a second story single family flat built in the 1500s. The objective was to maintain the space’s integrity with as many existing architectural features and sustainable finishes. This would include the restoration of a 1700s fresco and retaining sections of the original tile flooring.
The renovation included taking the original footprint and dividing the space into a luxury tourist apartment that would overlook the Piazza de Santa Maria Novella, along with a second living space that would serve as a single-family home.
